The Embrace drawing originated as a sketchbook ink drawing. The piece was commissioned by the artist, gallerist, and collector, Robert Brasier as a gift for a close friend. The drawing represents the metamorphosis of a human into an elephant or perhaps the reverse. The artist has repeatedly explored the interrelated nature of humans and elephants throughout his works.
